ALUMNI GAMES

If you're a basketball fan who follows basketball, you've probably noticed occasional advertisements about alumni basketball games. Alumni games are commemorative events that are promoted to encourage past members to come together and participate in friendly competition. It's all just for fun. They are organized around the country from schools such as O'Connell College, Anna Maria College, Claremont McKenna College, Thayer Academy, Coe College and others.

Eligibility

Some institutions have a long tradition of alumni basketball games, while others are relatively new to the idea. In an alumni game, you are never too old to play. The ages of those who participate will sometimes range from late teens to mid 50s. Usually, if a player participated for at least one full season, they are eligible to play. If a player can't play, then they are still encouraged to come to the event to have fun and support their old team mates.

Occasionally, members of an alumni group will reunite to compete against the current team of the same basketball organization. Announcements are sometimes sent out using word-of-mouth and postings on event web pages.

Any alumni event should be open to inviting back everyone who was involved in the organization at that time - male and female basketball players, administrative staff, trainers cheerleaders and regular supporters. Supplying t-shirts with a specific year on the back will get everyone exited and bring them closer together, so expect hugs from people you haven't seen recently. If it's someone's first alumni experience, they'll remember it forever.

Excitement, cheers, hugs, pom poms, it's all designed to make you feel like you've taken a trip back in time. The motivation will come naturally as you cheer on the players from the sidelines. And you're going to learn some new things at a Team Fusion alumni event:

You feel a little older, and maybe you're a little out of shape, ... but somehow you still made it happen - Alright, so you haven't played in a few years, but you've discovered that with a little practice those moves suddenly came back. Yes, your teammates too, they pulled off some really nice shots!

Team Fusion didn't stop supporting you after you left - Just because you no longer play for Team Fusion doesn't mean that you're out of sight and out of mind. You'll always be part of Team Fusion's past team roster.

Alumni games will remind you that you never lost (and will never lose) your passion for the sport of basketball - When the games begin, you're going to look around the gym and notice the look of excitement on everyone's face. You'll meet and greet with new people, and hugs will come out of nowhere.

Support Alumni Games

Team Fusion wants to promote physical fitness as well as promote the reunion of former players and their friends and family by organizing such events like alumni games. We want to encourage all of our former members to stay connected on and off the court. All Team Fusion basketball players, cheerleaders and support groups are welcome to participate and enjoy the fun. We will honor past alumni, support present players, and celebrate the future of Team Fusion players.
