Camila Contreras played girls basketball for San Elizario High School and has also played for Team Fusion. In December of 2019, she announced her commitment to play for the women's basketball team at Virginia Commonwealth University. Since joining Field Level on March 6, 2018, Camila worked with her coaches to target 20 different schools and received great results.

San Elizario High School
Josie Contreras, head coach for the San Elizario High School Girls basketball team, credits the success of the team as a direct result of hard work and commitment. Coach Contreras states,
"This team is composed of hard-working girls that respect and understand each other's talent."
The entire team understands the commitment they collectively contribute and what their success means to the Community of San Elizario. With 132 wins in her 9-year coaching career in San Elizario, she states, "Hopefully we will finish with 140 this year."
Senior player Camila Contreras said, "I think that our team this year is well put together and has an amazing work ethic. We work hard all year long and it shows on the court." Contreras is credited with 14 points per game and 10 rebounds. Also, Contreras was nominated to the McDonald's All American this year by the McDonald's All-American committee and was also recognized as one of the top best players in El Paso by the El Paso Times.
